7 Myths About Blood Donation — Debunked

Myth 1: Donating blood makes you weak. Reality: a healthy body replaces the donated plasma within 24 hours and red cells within weeks. Most donors feel completely normal the same day.

Myth 2: You can catch an infection from donating. Reality: every donation at Sundas Foundation uses sterile, single-use disposables. There is zero infection risk to the donor.

Myth 3: Donation is very painful. Reality: you feel only a brief pinch from the needle — the rest of the 10–15 minute process is painless.

Myth 4: People with common conditions can never donate. Reality: many people with controlled blood pressure or past minor illnesses can donate. Our screening staff will guide you.

The truth is simple: one donation can save up to three lives. Register as a donor today.
